Wheeler Farm Farmer's Market

Rye, Kai, and Heidi
Yesterday (well all weekend come to think of it) Heidi Anne had a blast! She got to see ALL of her cousins in 1 day. It started with a drive down to the valley. She loves these drives because she gets to watch a movie or sing along with the radio. This time it was Tangled so she sang along with Rapunzel.
We planned on meeting at Wheeler Farm, thinking it would be quite and we could just let the kids loose and stroll around. Well, apparently there was a huge Farmer's Market going on that day, which is 100% dog friendly, seriously we saw a Great Dane to a mutated mutt (a.k.a chihuahuas).
K-Bug--So Pretty
We just wandered around looking at the products offered and letting the kids explore. Then someone told us about the pumpkin hunt. It was like an egg hunt-but with pumpkins. So we took the kids over. If your plastic pumpkin had a number on it you got an extra prize. So many kids showed up (they counted 100) they had to break it up by years and limit to 1 pumpkin per kid. Sadly, Rykken was just to little (by a few months) to play. But he was a great sport about it. If nothing else-he looked adorable.
Girls, wait!! I want to go too......
They did their pumpkin hunt, at first they were holding hands and wouldn't let go of each other to go get a pumpkin. Heidi Anne did get a little prize. Yeah. After that we went and "feed" the ducks. I say "feed" because we didn't have any bread, so the geese were mad at us. So Char and I started to act like we were tossing pieces of bread to the birds. Needless to say they were very perplexed. (I am positive my sister thought it was horrible yet hilarious at the same time.....)
Buddies-See? Not Letting Go!

After the duckies we explored a little more. They went and played at a tree house, which they loved. To our surprise it easily held 2 little girls and their moms without issue. They don't make them like that anymore! I would sooo love to make a tree house for her! (We might do a PVC pipe or something...but that's another day). As we were exploring we discovered our little crew were becoming tired and hungry. So we headed to my sisters house so they can get some lunch and paint pumpkins.
In the Tree House--BEST FRIENDS
They had a BLAST playing together. Which was great, since I needed my sister to teach me some awesome crafting skills. So the girls were playing so cute together-and Rykken was playing "How fast can I get into that??". Oh I LOVED it!! My favorite quote of the day had to be when I checked on the kids, I asked "Are you playing nice?" Heidi Anne replied "K-Bug and I are being nice, but we are being siblings to Ryerye." I guess siblings a lower then cousins on the totem pole?
RyeRye-getting so big
After Rebekah helped me with my project we painted pumpkins with the kids. Sadly, no pics. We were all painting, thus we all got messy. However, Rykken painted his pumpkin blue, he then promptly painted himself blue as well. Very detailed I must add.  K-Bug painted her WHOLE pumpkin a pretty rainbow, pink, blue, more blue, purple, there wasn't a speck of orange left. I made a spider, all black with eye and some pipe cleaners for legs. Char made the Joker (he even added green yarn when we got home for the hair). My sister started an Angery Bird family-she started with the pigs. Heidi Anne did abstract art with hers-just shapes here and there. Totally fun. Just one of those days were I wish we lived closer so we could do this more often!!

Rain Drops to Teddy Bears

Heidi Anne did the funniest thing yesterday during the big thunderstorm. She got her teddy bear (my old bear Rusty-it’s hers now) and Ana Rose, climbed up on her toy box to look out the window to watch the storm. As she was watching it she was singing:
“Rain drops go away,
Little Heidi wants to play,
Rain drops, rain drops,
Go Aways!"

Not 100% the right lyrics-but it made it even sweeter. She also sings Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, (Teddy bear turn around). Twinkle Little Star, Row Da Boat.

We've recently found out her favorite games are the Hookie Pookie and Duck, Duck Goose. She tries to get her dolls and Ana Rose to play with her, and gets very cross with them when they don’t play right. “Momma-they won’t chase me!”

She loves too read, too! I don't mean just being ready to, which we read at least 30 mins a day-and that’s a bad day. She loves to have the American Girl books read to her-we’ve read a few of the books (she likes Kristin and Molly)-we read about 6 pages a night-so it takes 2 ½ to 3 weeks to read 1 book.
But she likes to READ to us. She can read some words, but she can "read" all of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Polar Bear Polar Bear, and Cow Loves COOOKIES!!! I’ll record it sometime.
They don’t stay little for long do they?

My Census form came back AGAIN!!!! it says failed to correctly answer a question, the question was "DO YOU HAVE ANY DEPENDENTS".? I replied " 12 million illegal immigrants, 3 million crack heads, 42 million unemployed people, 2 million people over 243 prisions, and 535 more in the US House and Senate". Apparently that was the wrong answer....

MacLies!!! (MacDonald Mix Up)

Mac LIES!!!!
Well this shows how little we eat out. We had to go down to SLC yesterday for a Doctor appointment very early in the morning. Char suggested that we go to MacDonald's for breakfast as a treat since Heidi Anne was being such a good little girl. She overheard this and began to cheer. Then sing "Old MacDonald had a farm Ei-Ei-O!"

"Ahhh, Soooo Cute!!" we commented to each other.

We grabbed some pancakes (which I could eat) and hash browns (which I couldn't). Between bites of food Heidi Anne would still sing "Ei-Ei-O, and On his farm he had a Pig, Ei-Ei-O..."

Ahhh, so sweet and adorable we said as we finished eating. We went to the doctors office-where she was still humming the song to herself and skipping ahead of us. The nurses all told her how big she has gotten and asked what she was going to do today. She cheerfully told them "We're going to Old MacDonald's Farm to see Animals today because I am a good girl!!!"

Oooopppppssss. She didn't think MacDonald's was a place to eat-but that we were going to a farm to see animals (I guess she a 1/2 right..). We've learned our lesson, we're not going to call it MacDonald's anymore, well at least until she's a bit older. Lucky for us we were able to utilize her ADD and help her forget about MacDonald's. So we thought. Later that night when we were tucking her into bed she asked when we were really going to see animals again. She's a smart one.

Heidi Anne-The Baby Hungry Toddler??

Heidi Anne amazes everyone at how loving and caring she is with babies. She has taken it upon herself to be the babies teacher at daycare. She will get a box of markers and paper and start "showing" the babies how to "write" their names. (Even though she is spelling H-E-I-Name) she says- "Emery, this is your name." Or "Wynter (Yes-I DID spell it right) this is your name"

She loves to play with the babies too. When they are in a jumper she will go to them, coo with them, and say "Oh baby Sunny, who is the prettiest little baby girl-is it you? Yes it is! Oh, who is so cute? You are!" Just like an adult does. Or she will mother the babies, she will ask them questions or tell them what she is doing in a sing-song voice. "Now I am getting ready to go outside and play, did you want to come too?" The babies LOVE her for it.
We've noticed she tends to get a little overprotective. For example, she will tell the other kids they are pushing the babies to high in a swing (when they aren't) and say "No, the Baby likes it if you do it this way." She will then show them the "correct" way to handle the baby-(even if the baby happens to be their own sibling).

When there are no babies to play with and Ana Rose is at home she has an imaginary baby. She will push the baby in the swing and she will stop the swing if it goes crooked or apoloigize to the "baby" if the swing goes to high. A typical conversation for her and "baby": "Oh Baby! Was that fun? I will be more careful with you, that was a little toooo high for Baby! That was Big Girl high not baby high. Are you ready? Weeee, oh, who is having fun?"

I think it's humorous when she tries to convince the other Momma's to let her take a baby home with her, she pleads "But my Daddy said I could! Pppplllleeeeaaaassssseeee???". Sometimes she will try to sweeten the deal with a "I'll be really good...." Cue Smile....
To her surprise it hasn't worked yet. (^.^)

5 Year Anniversary

We just had our 5 year wedding Anniversary. Char got me a sewing machine. I know it might sound slightly sexists of him (a "back in the kitchen women" type thing) but it's what I have been wanting for a LONG, LONG time.  I have a very pretty sewing desk-but a broken sewing much-not anymore!

We went to get Sushi for lunch, talked about how it's been 5 years already, how we've been together for 10 years now. (And maybe we should see other people.....) Just Kidding. ;D

We were trying to guess what the next 5 years will bring. We decided there was no use in guessing, 5 years ago we didn't know how much fun, scary, stressful, and yet all around wonderful life would turn out for us. So we'll just sit back with little Heidi Anne and enjoy the ride.

Oh, and that sewing machine? Look at a few things I've been able to do so far. Keep in mind it's only been a few weeks, I'm really out of practice with sewing, and it's been billing. With that said-Want to see??

I Love my present!! As does Heidi Anne and Ana-Rose. Every time I make something for Ana Rose, Heidi Anne says "Oh, sooo pretty Momma! Where's mine so we can match?".  Yeah, need to work on that a little.

Momma: Oh Sweetie, I can't play right now, momma's head hurts.
Heidi Anne: I'll pray for your face.
LOL-Thanks kid-not only do I have a headache but a complex to go with it. I love toddlers!! :-)

Daddy: "Here there my little Dude!"
Heidi Anne: "I'm not a Dude, I'm a Princess!"
Everyday she just gets more cute and independent! Love it!!

Heidi Anne and Zoey

Heidi Anne has many friends at pre-school. One of her favorite friends that is the same age as her is Zoey. Therefore, they have many funny adventures together.

Earlier this week they had a competition about who was bigger. Basically they took turns saying things like; my feet are bigger or my head is bigger. Finally, they ALMOST ran out of things to compare. Heidi Anne piped up "Zoey, my butt is bigger!"  Her friend replied, "Okay Heidi, you have a big butt, but mine is the Biggest!!

Heidi wasn't going to stand for that-she wanted the biggest butt. So she brought out the big guns. She laughed and said "No, my Daddy say I have the bigger butt-so not Zoey-so Zoey butt not the biggest." She grinned at her friend-who conceited defeat. "Okay Heidi-If Daddy says so-Heidi has the biggest butt." They both laughed and ran off to play another game.

A few days later Heidi was on the swing and Zoey was closer then she had expected and accidentally tapped her bum with her foot. Instead of a boo-boo disaster the little girls thought it was the funniest thing ever. Pretty soon they turned it into a new game of swinging and tapping the other-laughing the whole time. Eveturally, Heidi Anne's ADD kicked in and she was done playing, but Zoey wasn't. Heidi told her "Zoey, you go tap your own bum now-I tired."

I guess that's the upside to having big butts??

Julliard Here We Come?

Heidi Anne has taken an interest in dancing lately. (We think we'll try to put her in dance or ballet soon). A song comes on and she begins to just dance around. She will watch other people dance and mimic their moves almost exactly. Then she will do it over and over again until she sees another fun dance more. She loves to twrill and get on her tippy toes and perform and take a bow. For Halloween she wants to be a Ballerina. Cute!

She also loves to sing. She likes The Band Perry-but it still unnerves her teachers a little when a 3 years starts to sing out of now where "Lay me down on bed of Roses, Sink me in a River at Dawn, Send me away with the words of a Love Song, Ooohhh Ohhh. Make me a Rainbow..." When asked what she's singing she says "My Momma's Song-because we sing it together."

What surprised us was when we were driving around and the new Shania Twain song came on, I love you Shania-but NOT that song, after 6 years you come back with that? Anyways, when that song comes on, the radio goes way down so I don't have to hear it. Or so I thought. Out of the back seat, right on beat I hear "Today is your day, Every things going your way" being sung with all her heart and soul by my 3 year old. (Your lucky Shania-she wasn't even alive during your glory days-so she thinks this is you being awesome).

H-E-I-Name

Heidi Anne is obsessed with being a “Big Girl”.  With all the other big kids going to school, she has decided to try extra hard to be a big kid in any way, shape, or form. Apparently, one aspect of being a big kid is knowing how to spell your name.  So she sits and chants out loud as she repeatedly writes “H-E-I – (then says) Name”.  She's half way there, and it's so cute. H-E-I Name, H-E-I Name, H-E-I Name. You get the idea, so adorable.
She can write H-E-I very well, no one knows where she picked it up. Her teachers even complement her writing skills, to which she replies “Thank-you, now give me $5 please.” (We don’t know where that came from either or why such a low amount.  Honestly child, hold out for more =^-^= )

Tales of An Only (Nowhere near Lonely) Child

So.... Heidi Anne has no siblings, in case no one noticed... truth be told we keep her older sibling in the attic and feed him fish heads...

Fish heads fish heads
Roly poly fish heads
fish heads fish heads
eat them up, yum!

Wait what was I talking about?

Oh yeah, Heidi Anne being a single child! Well IF you believe me she has no siblings.. if not...he likes salmon ;D. I feel that Heidi has recently decided our house is just Tooo Quite. Thus she has begun to have several disagreements with various things in our house; the main targets seem to be The Cats and / or Her "Sister" Anastasia Rosalie (Ana-Rose)-her favorite baby doll.

We know it's going to be one of "Those" fights when the conversation goes something like this:

H: "Momma, Ana is touching my blanket, make her stop!"
M: "Heidi she is not touching it."
H: "Momma, she is too! She didn't ask nicely. Come see. Make her get off."
M: _-_-_-(Walking to their room) _-_-_-, I see that Ana Rose Is on Heidi Anne's blanket (AKA Helen of Troy or HOT for short). So we talk about sharing with siblings, that Ana is the baby, and she wants to be just like Heidi Anne. She then shares the blanket. I come back in the room 5 mintures later. Lo and behold, Ana has different blanket around her and Heidi Anne has the HOT Blankey . I asked her what happened. Heidi Anne smilpy states "Oh, Ana wants a different blakety now, so I don't have to share anymore." I bet all mothers wish it were that easy. (^_^)

Family Photos

My sister gave me a wonderful Birthday / Anniversary gift (and No, it wasn't a frying pan, or vacuum, or iron) it was a photo session at Fotofly http://fotofly.com/ down in Draper.

We got our first family pictures done in a very, very long time. Then we got some just Heidi Anne pictures as well. I LOVE this place. As does my sister. Here are some of my favorite pictures.

I Hava Dwream...

Heidi Anne has become quite the entertainer as of late. As we are getting ready in the morning, she likes to come in, slowly twirl in front of the mirror and just softly state to us, "I'm so pretty." Keep in mind, this is normally with her hair all a mess, but to her-she's still prettier then Rapunzel Hair.  I wish I had that much self confidence.
Another habit she's recently picked up is dancing. Twice this week at daycare we're told stories about her fondness for it. The first was how she found a musical toy and would push the button to make it play music. As soon as the music started she would dance, just spinning, jumping, waving her arms. Totally getting into the music. She was so disappointed each time she had to stop dancing to turn the music back on again.
Later in the week, they went to the movies, each time there was a song-she would get down and dance. (Quietly-but still dancing). Then promtly get back in her seat when the musical number is over.
She even does this at home. My favorite is when she dances and sings with Tangled. She'll sing and dance with "I hava  Dwream!" I hava Dwream!" (If they get to far ahead of her-she'll just fall back to "I hava Dwream"). Or "Mother Knows Best".

Heidi Anne and K-Bug

I once heard a quote, written by that famous person Author Unknown (he writes a lot of good things!) "God made us cousins, because he knew our moms couldn't handle us as sisters. I always think of Heidi Anne and her Kayla Bug. She adores Kayla. Yesterday she found a picture of her and Kayla taken at their first Baby Animal days (back when they were babies). She wouldn't part with the picture so we let her take it to daycare with her. So we got the following story:
Heidi Anne was so proud of her picture she brought today! She telling everyone "This is Kayla-Bug and I LOVE her." Any time someone came in she would go grab their hand and take them to her cubby to look at her picture. It was so cute!
Those two little girls are just so adorable together. I so happy they are so close and that my sister and I are so close that they are able to have that sister like bond themselves.

Laugh Until We Cry

I get to listen to a lot of music at the office. Like most people-certain songs just seem to really hit home. Well this song, Laugh Until We Cried by Jason Aldean would have to be my pick for the week. Mainly these verses.
Laugh Until We Cried
"...Oh man we were livin
Sittin' there reminiscin'
We sang and talked and traveled back in time
We laughed until we cried

It's like the best days under the sun
Every emotion rolled into one
A little of this a little of that
Kinda happy kinda sad.."

Two good friends left the office, one was an intern-but she fit right into our team, I don't think we even saw her as that. She was just Kristina, super fun to be around, and "how was it she wasn't part of the group sooner" type person. The other is Lisa, the one who makes everyone's birthdays special, our food connoisseur, fellow movie / book critic. She is an all around great people person. They are both returning to school, (see told you "Kinda Happy, Kinda Sad"), so totally understandable. I know the insanity of a Full Work and Full School.
For the most part I wouldn't change a thing about last week-I may have those moments where I wish they were able to do both-but I have nothing but happy thoughts, everyone was just Laughing until we cried. Which is tons better then crying until you laugh....

I A Big Girl-Like Daddy!!

Since some of my really good friends / co-workers were going to be leaving soon to go back to school, I brought Heidi Anne in to sort of say good bye to them. I picked her up for a "Work Adventure". It was just a little visit, 30 mins, between her normal playtime and lunchtime so we wouldn't throw off her schedule too much.
We made a pit stop to see Dadda at work. She saw him and ran yelling "DADDY, DADDA, DADDY!!" You would think she hadn't seen him in 4 months-not 4 hours. She "helped" him with some of his work. Then she went to introduce herself. My favorite was when someone asked her if she was a big girl. Her response? "Yeah, I a BIG girl, like my Daddy!" Too cute.
Oddly enough, around this time, Char decided we should head up to see my friends.....Hmmm coincidence I bet.
Sadly, some of my friends had already left for lunch. Heidi Anne showed them the silliness in that. She (with the help of Dadda) did a little office prank. They (and by "They" I mean he suggested and she went along with it) took a pair of keys and hide them in a nearby office. After that she helped me with some notes, calculations, and had fun visiting Momma's friends (minus the time out scare--which was a big miscommunication). Then 30 minutes were up and time to head back to lunch. She told all her friends at daycare repeatedly how she got to go to Work with Momma and Dadda and she got to help them because she's a big girl. (Just like Daddy, right? ;D )

Light Bright

A few nights ago we had a really pretty Lighting / Thunderstorm. I was lucky enough to get lots of pictures of it. These are a few of my favorites.
This strike was so bright it light up the neighborhood-Keep in mind this was 11:00 at night.

Now this is just cool-I got the whole life of the lighting strike, it starting, the big bang, and then it's fading away. All in a split second. I love technology. The storm went on for nearly an hour-maybe? It was late-but totally awesome! There was very little if any rain, which is why I got these nice pictures. Not to mention there was just so much lighting in general. (The fact that there happens to be huge field with a metal shed nearby didn't hurt either).
